Assignments for week of 2/7 -- 2/11

Here are the assignments for this week:

Tuesday/Thursday classes:

Language Arts: Keep studying your vocabulary lesson 7. Quiz on Thursday the 10th.
Memorize your lines from "The Merchant of Venice"--the short bit, Portia or Shylock, as well as the entirety of the scene from Act 5 .

Latin I: Quizzes 5 and 18 on Thursday. Worksheets 5 and 18 due by Thursday. I will check worksheets 1-4 and 15-17 on Tuesday to make sure those are completed, too.

Latin II: Quiz on Tuesday, covering Word Lists 9 and 10. Continue working on your lessons. You should have completed through Lesson 38. Next week you will complete lessons 39-41, and if you are done with 38 you may work ahead if you like. I will check lessons on Thursday.

Latin III: Quiz on Thursday, covering Word Lists through 11. Lessons through 42 should be completed this week. You may work ahead to lessons 43-45. I will check lessons on Tuesday.

Greek: Verb test on Tuesday the 8th. If you know your present tense endings, you will do well. Continue studying your endings for first conjugation. Quiz on nouns will be on the 24th. That will require declining Second Declension nouns (you have only learned the second declension endings, not First). There will also be some vocabulary knowledge required. Consult your worksheets.

Math 4: For Tuesday, finish your assigned homework on finding a fraction of a number. We will work some more on this in class. PLEASE work HARD at memorizing your math facts, especially times tables for 6, 7, and 8. These seem to be giving you the most trouble.

Wednesday & Friday

Math 4: Work your Division Wrap-Ups. Once through the whole sequence, and three more times for 6, 7, 8 and 9. Work your Fraction Wrap-ups for identifying equivalent fractions; do not do the last 2 wrap-ups in the set. This is also your homework for Thursday.

Debate: Be prepared for your debate. Your topic is "Resolved, that chess is more challenging than backgammon."

E-mail me if you have any questions!

Mrs. M.
