Western Civ: Continue working on presentations and read your Greece & Rome chapters.
Economic Themes: For this week, do the lessons on the sinking of the Lusitania and on the German U-Boats. Prepare for next week by reading about the First Battle of the Marne. You do not need to do the written part of the Battle of the Marne yet.
Middle East: Finish your timelines. You will have a quiz on Monday covering Mesopotamia. After that, we will begin studying the modern Middle East. Continue reading Three Cups of Tea.
Have fun!

New class for fifth grade
Beginning Wednesday, December 3, the fifth graders will be studying Literature with Mrs. Martin. This change should help us differentiate for the different age levels in the Intermediate section. We will begin by completing the study of The Prince and the Pauper. Then, our next project will be Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream. Students will read the play and present an excerpt from it for our Shakespeare Festival! Later projects will include Little Women, The Secret Garden, selected poems and short stories, and more adventures in literature.
