HISTORY
Western Civ (6th grade): Read the first two chapters in the French Revolution unit. We will begin discussion on Wednesday. Make sure you have thoroughly read the chapters by the end of the week. You will have FOUR chapters to read next week, so pace yourselves. NO written assignments this week.
Economic Themes (7th): Continue working in your packets. You will need to FINISH the section on the Depression by the 23rd, when you will HAND IN your packets for grading. We are currently discussing the Depression. You will receive your Depression "persona" this week so you can start preparing for the Lock-In on the 23rd. You will also receive recipes to prepare and bring to the lock-in. VERY IMPORTANT: You have TWO book reports due in May. Make sure you are keeping up on reading the books. You should have FINISHED the first book (the novel covering 1910-1940) by now and should begin working on the outline for your book report. AS SOON AS you have finished that book, start reading "In the Presence of my Enemies."
The Near East: Prepare for a mini-quiz (open book) on India on Wednesday. You will use this as a study guide for your unit test in May. After the quiz we will begin our study of Southeast Asia. As usual, you will complete the review questions at the end of each chapter.
LATIN
Goals for this week:
Latin 1A: New students will progress at the rate of one lesson per week. Check with Mrs. Martin to see where you should be. Regular 1A students (Intermediate) should prepare for Quiz 11 next Tuesday. Make sure you have WORKSHEET 10 completed!
Latin 1B: Make sure you have WORKSHEET 21 and all earlier worksheets completed. (Spenser is on Lesson 16.) There will be a quiz on Thursday. It will be a big one covering Lessons 15-21. Spenser will do Quiz 16.
Latin II: All levels, there will be a semi-pop quiz on Wednesday or Thursday depending on your level. This will be a partly open book quiz; you will do as much as you can and have the last 5 minutes to look in the book. Yasmine will begin this Tuesday and finish Thursday, because her classes are half hour. Test 7 is coming up NEXT WEEK, so make sure you are solid through Lesson 48 at that time. You should be working on Lessons 46-48 this week.
Latin III: Work on Lessons 46-48. Your homework is to write TEN sentences using the nominative, genitive, and dative, and at least one adjective and one adverb. These are tough so take your time with them. These are due NEXT WEDNESDAY, April 21. Make sure you are up on your lessons and ASK ME if there is anything you don't understand. We are about to start a new concept in 2 weeks so it is essential you really get what we've done so far. We start work on the genitive case in two weeks.
That's it. Please email or call if you have questions.
Mrs. M.
